Aubrey was born in November of 2007 with a rare platelet disorder. We spent the first few weeks of her life at Seattle Childrens while they monitored her blood counts around the clock. After finally being able to take her home and her platelets recovering we were still taking her in to have blood drawn on a pretty regular basis as a precaution. They discovered a significant drop in her neutrophil and she was diagnosed with Neutopenia soon after. Sadly, the only treatment is frequent injections. If that treatment ends up failing, the only other option is a bone marrow transplant. Thankfully, she responds well to her injections and becomes more tolerant of them as she gets older. She leads a fun, happy life and is such a tremendous light to our family. We are thankful for every day we have with her and have been so blessed to have wonderful family, friends and fantastic doctors who have helped and supported us along the way. We are so excited to support the Ella Jewell Foundation and team up with families just like ours to raise funds for better treatment and some day a cure! Thank you for your support, it means the world to our families!
